About

Hi I’m Richard Edwards

I’m a professional developer and amateur golfer. My dream would be to ultimately switch that around but neither skill nor the length of a human lifetime will allow it.

This is me

You say you develop software?

I’ve been developing professionally since I graduated with a math degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario in 1989. I’ve been lucky enough to work for some great companies right here in Belleville, Ontario during my career without having to venture off to the big smoke to find employment. During that time I’ve still been able to work for a handful of Fortune 500 companies around the world, either onsite or remotely.

I started a small company on the side in 2004 named DNNStuff to sell commercial DNN (DotNetNuke) modules. After 14 years it ran its course and I have just recently closed that down. I open sourced all of the modules though so anyone who was relying on those modules still has a way forward. You can find all of the modules on my company GitHub repo

In 2009 I decided to start my own company, Red Tempo Software Inc. and work from home as a solopreneur which has been the best decision I ever made. I love the flexibility it affords me to plan my days and weeks the way I want and take on the kind and amount of work I want.

Currently, I’m enjoying working as a subcontractor for an established company in the US as well as my own projects. My tools of choice are currently VueJS, FeathersJS and I still dabble in C# with DNN module development.

And you golf?

I’ve played golf in some form or another since I was 10 yrs old. I currently carry a 3 handicap and play out of Trillium Wood Golf Club which is a beautiful and challenging course that I’ve been fortunate enough to be a member of since it opened in 1998.

If you’d like to contact me, just email me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
