The Big Blog Re:boot

Recently I’ve been making some changes in my life and have decided to start blogging again. Well, I’m not sure I can really say ‘again’ as the last couple of efforts have been pretty poor to say the least.

I’m going to use this blog for a number of things:

I’m going to consolidate my online presense, both personal and business into a single place. Instead of maintaining multiple sites, this is going to be the catch all for all things Richard Edwards. I’ll do my best to categorize things appropriately so you can just read the topics that interest you. Even though this is a personally branded site, there won’t likely be much personal content.

Sharing and communicating

Over the years I’ve been the beneficiary of countless bloggers who share their technical knowledge in a variety of topics that have helped me be a better programmer, learn new techniques and fix bugs. I’d like to share some of the same content from time to time if I feel that it might help someone else like I’ve been helped. I’d also like to hear from you in the comments to let me know if what I’ve written has helped you in anyway or if anything I’ve written is unclear or just wrong.

A project log

A side project that I worked on for 14 years (DNNStuff) came to a close last year and I feel that I should have blogged about that experience more so the knowledge that I gained during that 14 year period could have been shared. Luckily, I have an idea for another project that I’m going to be working on soon and I don’t want to repeat the same mistake.

Get gooder better at writing

Although I love reading books and I read a lot, maybe 30 a year plus all of the technical articles I need to go through, I’ve never felt I was very good at writing. My hope is that through some trial and error and actually forcing myself to write each week on this blog it will help me become a better writer.

Well, that’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to subscribe to the feed if you are interested.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I had this nice new logo created by a friend Michael Krysak.
